Drug Interaction to Avoid: If you are taking any of the following medications, please discuss with your doctor before using this drug: (1) Cholestyramine, hydantoins, rifampin, or St. John's wort because they may decrease drug's effectiveness; (2) Anti-arrhythmics, arsenic, azole antifungals (such as ketoconazole), cimetidine, cisapride, diuretics (for example furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide), dofetilide, droperidol, H1 antagonists, HIV protease inhibitors (i.e. ritonavir), ketolides, macrolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin), phenothiazines (i.e thioridazine), phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors, pimozide, quinolones (eg, ciprofloxacin), serotonin receptor antagonists, streptogramins, trazodone, or ziprasidone because side effects, such as heart rhythm problems or seizures, may occur while on this medication; (3) Narcotic pain relievers because low blood pressure, slow heartbeat, and other heart problems may occur; (4) Anticoagulants (like warfarin), beta-blockers (propranolol), calcium channel blockers (such as verapamil and diltiazem), cyclosporine, dextromethorphan, digoxin, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (simvastatin), lidocaine, or methotrexate because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Generic Cordarone; (5) Thyroid hormones because their effectiveness may be decreased or the risk of their side effects may be increased while on this medicine; and (6) Clopidogrel because its effectiveness may be decreased by this drug.

Safety Notes White Taking This Drug: (1) This medicine may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or blurred vision. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain medicines. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to it. (2) Severe and sometimes fatal lung or other breathing problems have been reported with Amiodarone HCL . Contact your doctor right away if you develop shortness of breath, chest pain, wheezing, fever, cough, or if you begin coughing up blood.  (3) This drug may cause skin reactions similar to serious sunburn or sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how you react to the med. Use a sunscreen and/or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time. (4) Generic Cordarone has been shown to cause harm to the fetus. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Ameodarone Hydrochloride while you are pregnant. Amiodarone is found in breast milk. Do not breast-feed.
