Common Side Effects - Include:

Drug Interaction: There are certain drugs that cause negative side effects when taken with
Chlordiazepoxide. Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
(1) Rifampin because the effectiveness of this medication may be
decreased; (2) Azole antifungals (i.e. Ketoconazole), clozapine,
disulfiram, nefazodone, omeprazole, sodium oxybate, and/or valproic acid
because side effects such as increased sedation may occur; and (3)
Clozapine, hydantoins (i.e. phenytoin), or sodium oxybate because the
actions and side effects of these medicines may be increased.
Important Notes: (1)
Chlordiazepoxide may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Do
not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be

Avoid drinking alcohol or taking other medications that cause drowsiness
