Common Side Effects of Generic Imuran - Include:
hypersensitivity (skin eruptions, rashes & arthralgia), nausea,
vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, hepatitis with elevations in bilirubin,
infections & anemia.
Drug Interaction: There are certain drugs that cause negative side effects when taken with
Generic Azasan Prescription. Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
(1) Alkylating agents (such as Cyclophosphamide, Chlorambucil
& Melphalan) because the risk of developing a tumor may be increased; (2)
Do not take Mercaptopurine because severe toxic effects, including
severe bone marrow suppression or death, may occur; (3)
Allopurinol, aminosalicylates (such as Mesalazine, Olsalazine,
Sulfasalazine), angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, doxorubicin,
or trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole because they may increase the risk of
Azathioprine's side effects: and (4) Anticoagulants and/or
hydantoins because their effectiveness may be decreased by Azathioprine
drug.
Important Notes: (1)
Avoid contact with anyone who has a cold or other infections Infections
is a constant hazard of immunosupressive theraphy; (2)
Do not take vaccinations or other immunity conferring agents while on
Azathioprinedrug; (3)
Generic Azathioprine may reduce the number of clot-forming cells
(platelets) in your blood. Avoid activities that may cause bruising or
injury. Tell your doctor if you have unusual bruising or bleeding. Tell
your doctor if you have dark, tarry, or bloody stools; and (4) For
Women: Remain
on birth control for 4 months after discontinuing
this medication. This drug is
associated with potential hazards in
pregnancy. Do not breast
feed while taking this drug without
consulting with your doctor.
